Bohag Bihu alias
Rongali Bihu is a festival celebrated in the state of
Assam and
north eastern India, It is also the beginning of the
Assamese New Year. It usually falls in the middle of
April. Its connected with the beginning of
harvest in Assam &
celebrated by all
especially by son of the soil regardless of their
religions or
social status. Presently
migrants from
other part of India are also celebrating this festival
with their Axomia brethren.
