On the third day of Bohag month (17 April in English), it is the day called 'Guxainbihu' means the day dedicated to God & pray . This day an Asomia household keep fast and pray in community village prayer hall 'Namghar' together, for the well-being & prosperity of the society.

Our Bohag (Spring) & Orchid-III




Today is 15 April in English and 1st Bohag as per 'Asomia calender year' & beginning of our spring festival. This variety of 'Orchid'- Kopouful,blooms just six to seven days before 'Bohag' and is integral part to our culture for celebrating 'Bohag Bihu' or 'Rongaali Bihu'.We present this Orchid to our loved ones specialy to young maiden to be worn on their hair during Bohag.

Asom's Bohag : An entire day dedicated to animals




Today is last day of 'Sot'(14 April in English)& end of Asomia calender year.This day is also called'Dumaahi'which is entirely dedicated to animals, specially used for farming by Asomia farmers and household, irrespective of economic status.

Getting ready




Today 1st of April. So,our village youth are getting ready with drum(Dhol),cymbal (taal), flute, and other local musical instrument to welcome 'Bohag' our new year and for the celebration of month long spring festival which starts from 15th April.
