Remembering Gandhi: Tezpur, Assam

Today 30th Jan Martyrs Day, the father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi was shot. Its a great and sad day for Indian. How ever I am sad that nobody took notice of this day other than Government agencies, that also, symbolically... I am ashamed, as our school children does not know about Gandhiji, neither the Zen-X parents know who was Gandhiji... afraid our democracy is on the wrong foot towards corruption .... & anarchy..!!!

Republic Day & Our Future : Tezpur

Today the 26th Jan 11 our 62nd Republic Day in India. The responsibilities and meaning of freedom and democracy must be taught to our Children for the greater interest of humane society world over. I feel sad on this date as most of our young generation even grown ups have forgotten the sacrifices made by our forefathers to uphold the freedom of human spirit universally. Particularly in Assam, since 1991 the young minds alike with grown ups had lost free speech to celebrate Republic day under the threat of terrorism. Now it is time to stand and behold our freedom and our nation pride. Jai Hind.

Tezpur : Kanaklata Udyan

Few days back I happen to visit Kanaklata udyan (park), which is located atop Dhenukhona Pahar (Hillock). This park is in the memory of a teenage girl freedom fighter Kanaklata Barua. She died with bullet shot, in the hands of British police, in 10th Sept 1942 while unfurling Indian National flag during freedom movement of India at a place called Gohpur in Assam.
