Dying River : at Azara, Guwahati, Assam

My heart could not bear to see, once a lively river 'Kalmini' at its death throb in Azara, Guwahati. It is dying and likely to be removed from the face of this earth. As a child in 70's I remember swimming & catching fish even during festival of colours Holi and Bihu, villagers & friends alike taking bath in a festive mood.
And present is a horrific to see at its end making away to human modernity.

Blog Lifepace a year old: Niz Goroimari, Tezpur

This day, exactly a year ago was the Holi festival when I wrote for the first time in my blog. A new found learning to evolve at this age of 50 years.
I reflected my evolution from a baby kid and to co-memo-rate, I am posting my baby photo in black and white, which was taken by my late father Kushal Gogoi, in the year 1961 at Magurmari village, in Sootea, Tezpur, Assam at my maternal household of Late. Tulsi Hatibaruah, a writer, social worker and a great freedom fighter, besides was a devoted Congress man.
I hope, this passion of blogging will be cultivated by my younger generation, a nice hobby and better friend.

Republic Day & Our Future : Tezpur

Today the 26th Jan 11 our 62nd Republic Day in India. The responsibilities and meaning of freedom and democracy must be taught to our Children for the greater interest of humane society world over. I feel sad on this date as most of our young generation even grown ups have forgotten the sacrifices made by our forefathers to uphold the freedom of human spirit universally. Particularly in Assam, since 1991 the young minds alike with grown ups had lost free speech to celebrate Republic day under the threat of terrorism. Now it is time to stand and behold our freedom and our nation pride. Jai Hind.
