To day its
13 Jan 2014 and another
Uruka of our
Assamese Magh Bihu(Bhogali Bihu). I tend to see time flying by since
last 53 summers of my life with un-fathom
changes in our cultural heritage inflicted with lekuna of modern ways.The people are now more divided & has become self centred.
The
bonhomie spirit of brotherhood in village community & in semi urban locality
amongst us people, let alone in towns seems to impress
we are becoming a dying culture. The
reason so are many, like changes in heavy
demographic by
illegal migrants from
Bangladesh,
patronage by political parties to
migrant,as porous
international borders of Assam(India)not
sealed till today,
unemployment,no major industries ,
banning of local
History & Geography subject in middle level
schools in Assam by government,
lack of will in present
parenting and many more.
Any way we as
Assamese has to survive these passing phase in time and as citizen of Assam it is our
responsibility to
safeguard & teach young generation our
heritage & culture.
Yep, its Magh Bihu Uruka today, lets enjoy ... Happy Magh Bihu to all.
