Today the
04th Jan 2014 It will be another
memorable day in the history for the
people of Tezpur, Assam . As
train services from this
important city has been restored after completion of rail track gauge
conversion from meter-gauge to broad-gauge.
It
took nearly four years to
see the day light. Presently the
main Rail Station will be Dekargaon nearly
06 KM away from
earlier main Station based near
the bank of the
Brahmaputra river at
Tezpur city.
Initially their will be
two trains.
One running from Railway Station
Kamakhya, Guwahati to Dekargaon (Tezpur) via Rangiya & Rangapara station &
one from
New Jalpaiguri to Dekargaon(Tezpur).
The
resume of train services has
sent joy & relief for the
people of greater Tezpur,Dhekiajuli,Missamari,Orang,Rangapara,Rauta,& Balipara. Thanks to Indian Railway.
