In
recent time the
festival Deepavali has become a
status symbol &
competitive in nature amongst the
residence in
Assam aka India.
It is
loosing the
ascetic & religious tag due to too much
exposure of various
commercials. With
cost spiraling of various
commodity people
still try to surpass each other by burning
excessive crackers &
electricity along with
gambling and
drinking liquor.
There are
situation where the
poor person has to
borrow money to
full fill the requirement of
such competition due to
pressure from
their dependent kids. A
psychological status symbol for their
friends rather the enemy .
Its seen
except the elders,
no one are
interested to offer prayer to the almighty, a very
saddening status of this festival.
